Description

The University awards this scholarship in recognition of dedicated students who demonstrate a commitment to community service and leadership, and who are involved in volunteer work, possess a service background and/or show interest in future service. These scholarship funds are applied to tuition and fees only.

PT applicants for the 2023 Summer term at all five campuses may apply for a $25,000 scholarship, to be awarded in equal trimester-based increments throughout the program.

Scholarships are awarded to the entering students who best meet the following criteria:

  • Preferred minimum of 3.0 GPA on program prerequisites
  • A short (500–1000 word) essay or up to two-minute video that describes your leadership activities or volunteer work and the impact it has had on you and your community. You may mention the ways in which you plan to continue to lead and have meaningful impact as a healthcare practitioner.
  • Only scholarship applications where a student has started and/or completed their PTCAS application will be considered.

To retain the Leadership and Community Service scholarship, a recipient must:

  • Remain a full-time student in the applicable degree program. Scholarships are not transferable to any other University degree program.
  • Remain enrolled in all courses in the established curricular pathway for the applicable program. Withdrawing from a course would remove a student from the established curricular pathway causing them to be ineligible for the scholarship for the subsequent trimester.
  • Earn a minimum of a 3.0 GPA at the end of each trimester.

Any scholarship recipient who does not meet these requirements will be ineligible for the scholarship award for the subsequent trimester. The scholarship would be reinstated the following term if the student again meets the requirement.
